The Gemological Institute of America classifies diamonds by color starting from D (colorless) to Z (yellowish). The closer a diamond color is to colorless (D grade) indicates the rarer the diamond (except for colored diamonds) and therefore the higher the value.

It’s important to note that diamonds with the same carat weight can appear different in size depending on their cut design.
